Gault&Millau rates restaurants on a 20-point scale. Its inspectors visit anonymously and pay for their meals. Alongside the score, the guide uses toques to indicate the level of recognition: a score between 13 and 14.5 points corresponds to two toques.
Szomszéd Bistro received 13.5 points. The restaurant review highlights chef Róbert Magyar’s cuisine, the house-made baked goods and the pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. Gault&Millau also reviews bistros and other informal dining places.

Dining Guide TOP100
78th place in the national ranking in 2026
Dining Guide TOP100 is an independent national restaurant guide presented at the Restaurant of the Year Gala. According to the publisher, its ranking is based on personal, anonymous restaurant visits, with Hungarian and international experts taking part in the evaluation.
Despite the name “TOP100”, the guide features more than one hundred restaurants. For its 2026 edition, Dining Guide visited nearly five hundred hospitality venues and included 180 restaurants and almost 70 alternative venues. Szomszéd Bistro ranked 78th nationally in 2026 and also received a notable placing in the pizza category.

Év Cívis Vendéglátója 2025
Professional award · winner in the category of restaurants serving hot meals
In 2025, Cívis Ház Zrt. opened the competition to the whole of Debrecen. The professional jury, chaired by Balázs Csapody, assessed 21 hospitality venues in two categories. Its evaluation followed Dining Guide-based criteria, covering areas from ingredients and cooking techniques to service.
The professional jury awarded the prize in the category of restaurants serving hot meals to Szomszéd Bistro. This professional award is separate from the prizes decided by the public vote.
